Q: What is this website’s purpose? A: I plan to use this website as a way to record my progress, in adventures, hobbies, and other skills that I want to learn. Additionally recording my experiences through photography, articles, and eventually videos may motivate others to seek unique, challenging, experiences. At the very least it will help me; making all of this public motivates me to create something that I deem acceptable for public view.
Q: What is ORO? A: The branding for my photography. I know it’s a little weird, and I have no real need for it now, but I may want to develop it further.
Q: What does ORO mean? A: It’s all about how I feel about photography, and what I enjoy taking pictures of the most. Oros, is the Greek word for mountain. You could say I’m a Orophile: A person who loves mountains, but I don’t really like the sound of that. Oro is also the Spanish word for Gold. After taking a good photo and editing it, it becomes a treasured commodity. So all together, I felt ORO captured my sentiments well enough.
Q: How’d you get interested in photography? A: I’ve always loved art, but drawing doesn’t come naturally to me. Photography is great for me because I’m just capturing the beauty around me, and a good eye is all I need. I got my first camera in the winter of 2013, and every since then I’ve just continued to love it.
