The Pacific Crest Trail is a wilderness trail that runs 2500+ miles from the U.S. Mexican border to the the U.S. Canadian border through some of the nation’s most beautiful mountainous county.
The Summer of 2022, I decided to upend my life, quit my job, and hike 2500+ miles from Canada to Mexico. Why did I do this? A fear of being normal. A dread came over me, that I would live a normal life, never doing anything exemplary.
I wanted one example I could point to and remind myself of my ability to accomplish the extraordinary, so that when other opportunities presented themselves I would remember, be confident, and execute. Well, I got that, and so much more. I just didn’t expect to love the whole darn ordeal so much. It would be nice if a enterprise such as this was profitable, or included a lot of my other talents that I wish to incorporate in what end’s up becoming my “life’s work”. Alas, it doesn’t or I am just blind to how I can mesh all my passions together. I hope that writing about my passions and sharing them will bring further clarity to me on who I am, what I what to do with my life, and how I can give some sort of value to those around me in doing it.
